About

I am Ziyi Luo. My work has two sides: building and hardening the systems that hold other people's money, and documenting the places where such systems fail.

I am currently a Master of Cyber Security (Cryptography) student at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, graduating in July 2027, having completed a Computer Science degree before that. My work sits at the intersection of three fields: application security, blockchain infrastructure, and the cryptography that underlies both. What interests me most are the trust boundaries: the step at which a signature becomes trusted, the point at which a bridge assumes an honest counterparty, the grounds on which an API accepts that a caller is who it claims to be. Most real incidents open at precisely these points.

Most of what I know comes from running systems myself. chaconne.xyz is a non-custodial aggregator for tokenised US stocks on Solana, which I built and operate on my own and which has been tested with real money. Before that I worked as a Solidity development intern on an NFT marketplace, completed all 41 Ethernaut levels with Foundry, and wrote trading and market-analytics tooling in Python.

Out of personal interest I also pursue independent research on trust boundaries in Ethereum account abstraction, migration paths for post-quantum signatures, how money actually moves on-chain, and the foundations of quantum information; the articles on this site are what that research has produced.

Work with me

I am looking for a graduate-level position starting in mid-2027, in application security, security engineering, backend or blockchain engineering, or smart-contract security research. I am open to roles in Australia, Singapore, or remote.

From July 2027 I hold full working rights in Australia (Temporary Graduate visa, subclass 485; no employer sponsorship required).
